Beth Wooller

Hearing Impairment Equity & Inclusion Consultant

The UK’s 100 most influential disabled people in the 2022 Shaw Trust Disability Power 100 & Founder and Chair of the Sainsbury’s EnAble Network

I am dedicated to breaking down the barriers that stop young people with a hearing loss from fulfilling their potential.

I bring a balanced approach to problem-solving from my experience in the corporate world. I’ll always consider what’s good for the individual and what’s good for the business.

I bring lived experience of best practice from my lifetime of hearing loss. I have experienced personally what works, what doesn’t, and have led teams of people with hidden disabilities to excel in the workplace.

I am a role model for what ambitious people can achieve with the right support at the right time, showing that disability is an advantage, not a hindrance. My older brother, with a hearing loss, has been my own greatest role model and in turn, I am working to serve other ambitious individuals to achieve their dreams whatever they may be. Through Chairing a disability network, I have experienced inspiring others, from speaking out for the first time to being role models themselves.

I am an ambitious and empathetic team leader dedicated to leading teams to success and helping people with disabilities and differences excel in the workplace.

Cambridge-educated and with a Big Four management consultancy background, I have over 10 years of retail commercial and operational strategy experience. Most recently I have led the successful planning and delivery of Sainsbury’s price campaigns, engaging with stakeholders across the business to launch and deliver large-scale change at pace.

With a lifetime of experience living and working with hearing loss, I founded and chair the EnAble Network at Sainsbury’s - the first disability network in the company’s history.

I am a disability advocate and work actively with charities to raise disability awareness, build confidence, and simplify processes. Recently I have appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live, BBC London News, at 10 Downing Street, the DWP and the Houses of Parliament. Most recently I have been selected as a Presenter Volunteer for the National Deaf Children’s Society; presenting and facilitating workshops for deaf children, their families, other organisations that work with deaf children and charity supporters.
